色疏松細粉，手感滑膩，不溶于水、乙醇和乙醚，溶于熱水、醚，遇酸分解為硬脂酸和相應的鎂鹽。在室溫水中溶解度77-79mg/L，溶于熱的乙醇。遇酸分解為硬脂酸和相應的鎂鹽。微有特臭，有滑膩感。

Characters Magnesium stearate is a kind of tiny, light and white powder with greasy touch sense, insoluble in water, ethanol neither ethoxyethane, but soluble in hot water, hot ethanol, decomposes into stearic acid and magnesium salts when contacting with acid. 3.
